...The One and Only...

My Book Reviews 2010

Here is a list of books that I have read since January 2010.

They will be listen by their name, amount of stars (out of 5) and a little description of what I thought of them. They are in order from most recent.

If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask me.

LET'S HEAR WHAT YOU THOUGHT

Dear John

Dear John

4 Stars - 2 Days to read

I read this book because of the movie. I cried twice. It is a beautifully sad love story. I did not like the ending though. Read it to find out!

Book and movie were amazing!

The Gargoyle

Andrew Davidson

5+ Stars - 11 Days to read

This book was definitely something different!

A twisted love story! I love the miniature stories told in between this book. Looking for something different to read? Definitely go for this book. I would say 16+ though. I Absolutely loved it! My Favourite!

Hush,Hush - Book 1

Becca Fitzpatrick

3 Stars - 3 Days to read

Just like any other teenager love story to do with angels. I wasn't really impressed. Maybe a younger generation will like it more than I did.

Crescendo Book - 2

Becca Fitzpatrick

3 Stars - 2 Days to read

So I don't really know what to say about this book. It was actually pretty good. It wasn't WOW good.. but I can say that I was happy that I gave this series a second shot. I don't even remember what happened in the first book, but that didn't seem to matter.

Patch and Nora love each other but can't be together because the Archangels are watching over them and love between them is illegal or whatever. Patch can go to Hell but he doesn't really care. They break up and Patch is reassigned to watch over Marcie - Nora's arch enemy. Nora gets pissed and jealous yet can't keep away from Patch. Scott - some random guy she used to know - comes back into town and Nora uses him as a sort of distraction and to get Patch back and make him feel jealous. The entire book someone is after Nora but we don't know who it is. People keep comparing this book to Twilight but I don't see it. Yeah, I get the whole bad guy 'stay-away-from-me-i-am-no-good-for-you' whole thing but this book does not even come close to resembling Twilight. First of all Patch is a douche and I have no romantic feelings for him whatsoever. *SPOILER* He let Marcie kiss him! UM HELLO. AND he gave her a key to his car. And he let her wear his hat. Ugh. I can't even think of him right now. I hate him. I don't know how Nora could take him back. Idiot.

Well other than that, it was a pretty good book. I have the third one already, so here I go!

Silence - Book 3

Becca Fitzpatrick

2 Stars - 4 Days to read

This book just brought back the feelings from book 1. I did not like this book........

Nora was kidnapped at the end of book two but is now back out in the world. But the thing is... she has no memory. Hank - her biological father - wiped her memory after he kidnapped her. She doesn't remember anything after the moment she met Patch. Patch tried so hard to stay out of her life but the connection between them was just too strong. Nora gets herself into danger... Patch comes and saves the day... they both have to stop a war... Hank is evil... yadda yadda yadda. And that's basically it.

I do not like Patch. I do not have a connection with him. He - in my eyes - is a loser. I would never date him. For those swooning over him.. get over yourself! I will read the next book only because I have it free on my kindle. That's all.

Finale - Book 4

Becca Fitzpatrick

1 Star - 20+ Days to read

THIS BOOK IS HORRIBLE!!!!

I FORCED MYSELF TO READ IT.

At 76% I stopped. I couldn't torture myself anymore. I skipped so many pages and at that point I couldn't go through with it anymore.

Final conclusion: DO NOT read this series. It is a complete waste of time. I don't know who read this book and actually enjoyed it.

The Golden Compass - Book 1

Phillip Pullman

4 Stars - 11 Days to read

Great Book!

The Subtle Knife - Book 2

Phillip Pullman

3 Stars - 8 Days to read

I suggest not reading this book until you read The Golden Compass first. This is the second book to the series. I already read it and I didn't have another book to fill my time. It is an alright book.

The Amber Spyglass - Book 3

Phillip Pullman

4 Stars - 6 Days to read

As I mentioned before. Do not read this book until you have read The Golden Compass and The Subtle Knife. This is the last book to the Trilogy. It is boring at some points but the exciting parts are amazing. I almost cried at the end. I like books that make me cry.

Thirst No. 1

Christopher Pike

5 Stars - 6 Days to read

This is a vampire book with real vampire instincts. The lust, the sex appeal, the blood! Definitely a book to read if you like real vampire books!

Thirst No. 2

Christopher Pike

5+ Stars - 6 Days to read

Probably one of the best books I've read. I wanted to cry and be happy at the ending. Another MUST READ book!!!!!!!!!!!

Thirst No. 3

Christopher Pike

4.5 Stars - 6 Days to read

I love these books! This one, though, was a bit confusing. Of course the read makes you want to keep reading, but I found myself questioning some parts. The worst part was that I finished the book. And it ended in a way that made you want more. I was shocked! So GOOD! I loved how things surprise you in this story. Now I have to wait until Aug 2011 for No. 4!! Horrible :(

Thirst No. 4

Christopher Pike

4 Stars - 4 Days to read

I started this book so excited. I knew how amazing the previous 3 were, but there was something that just didn't do it for me in this book. I love the history of Krishna and the power of Sita. She revived back into Teri's body and she was this weak vampire. I fell in love with the books because of how strong, confident and powerful Sita was. I didn't like seeing her go blind with thirst as a young vampire and being clumsy and uncoordinated. There was a lot of history about the Array and the IIC and the cradle. It was very confusing! The ending was alright. I kind of predicted it and it took a long time for Sita to put the pieces of the puzzle together. The children of The Craddle reminded me of children of the corn. At least now I know that this ending was final and there will not be any other continuations. Well done Christopher, I applaud you for a great series. Well worth my time!

Thirst No. 5

Christopher Pike

5 Stars - 3 Days to read

I can’t believe the book ended like that! How dare all authors all over the world end books in cliff hangers. IT should be outlawed! But nonetheless I absolutely, positively LOVED this book. Christopher Pike never ceases to amaze me.

So it turns out after all that the ending of book 4 was not the actual ending. Sita did not go into the after world and it very alive. It begins right where they left off with Sita ripping off the head of Shanti who was her dear friend yet revealed she was possessed the entire time they were together. After her death, Seymour, Cynthia Brutran, her five year old daughter Jolie, Matt, and Sita all go after something called Veronica’s Veil. They feel it is the key to fixing all their problems and end all the evil after them and the world. But to find this veil they have to go into Sita’s mind and find out why she has a mental block. She blocked out the time where she first encountered the veil when she was taken by the Nazis to the concentration camps but it even goes further back than that. You have to read to find out.

I read from the author that this was the last book but he plans on writing a trilogy that deals with Sita and how her story truly ends. I feel like the author is prolonging Sita’s death but who wouldn't. As much as I want Sita to be happy with Krishna, I feel there is so much more we need from her. A great read and I definitely can’t wait to read more on her – eventually.

Twilight Graphic Novel Vol.1

Stephanie Meyer

4 Stars - 1 Hour to read

I just realized this isn't the full book. It only goes up to where Edward drives Bella home from the meadow. The meadow scene was amazing though. I loved the pictures

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella

Stephanie Meyer

2 Stars - 3 Hours to read

Um...expected more. Could have gone without reading it. I want my $12.99 back. Haha. I really can't believe I spent that much just to learn how one girl gets turned into a vampire then killed. I am ashamed of myself.

The Time Traveler's Wife

Audrey Niffenegger

5 Stars - 4 Days to read

Amazing book! It gets kind of confusing going between the years so quickly, but you get the hang of it eventually. Cute love story that ends with a sad yet sweet surprise.

Book was better than movie

The Fallen and Leviathan - Book 1

Thomas E. Sniegoski

2 Stars - 8 Days to read

This was such a garbage book. I expected more but I got worse than less. I do not recommend this book to anyone. I would say it was a waste of my time. It took me so long to read it since I couldn't be bothered to find the time for it. Blah! Wont buy No. 2!

Aerie and Reckoning - Book 2

Thomas E. Sniegoski

To-be-Read

End of Days - Book 3

Thomas E. Sniegoski

To-be-read

Forsaken - Book 4

Thomas E. Sniegoski

To-be-read

Armageddon - Book 5

Thomas E. Sniegoski

To-be-read

The Queen's Lady

Barbara Kyle

4 Stars - 12 Days to read

Amazing beginning, slow middle but great ending. Not a book for teenagers, that's for sure! This book is for a much older crowd. If you love the Tudor era, then read it. Overall it was a good book. Shows the life of a young Honor. Beautiful :)

There are other books to this 'series' but I don't plan on reading them. They each individually can hold their own.

A Great and Terrible Beauty - Book 1

Libba Bray

4 Stars - 4 Days to read

It was a really good book. Um, not memorable but I would probably read another book from this author. I think there is a part two to this book, if not, there should be. It was pretty good :)

Rebel Angels - Book 2

Libba Bray

3.5 Stars - 2 Days to read

A continuation to A Great and Terrible Beauty.... It was alright. Not much was accomplished. I just really want to know how it will end. Onto the final book.

The Sweet Far Thing - Book 3

Libba Bray

2 Stars - 11 Days to read

This book took me FOREVER to read. It was so... um... repetitive. I just wanted it to be OVER already! I finished it just for the sake of finishing it. It was a well written book, but I would not read it again NOR suggest anyone else to read it haha.

Angels and Demons - Book 1

Dan Brown

5 Stars - 5 Days to read

Another great mystery book. Dan Brown has a gift in making you think one thing that is totally wrong. You get lost in his quests and you don't even realize it. I even learned some things about Rome in here as well. The end is always a surprise!

Book was better than movie. They changed some parts in the movie which should have stayed the same.

The DaVinci Code - Book 2

Dan Brown

5 Stars - 6 Days to read

A great mystery book. It leaves you gripping to find out what is going to happen next. I tried solving some of the puzzles, but it was too hard. Robert Langdon races against the clock to figure out why the elderly curator of the Louvre was murdered. Symbols were left on his body and it is up to Robert and a friend, Sophie, to follow the clues and figure it out. A Definite recommendation! : )

The book was much better than the movie!

The Lost Symbol - Book 3

Dan Brown

4 Stars - 8 Days to read

I went into this book, thinking it was going to be as good as the previous two. Well, it wasn't. I was confused at the end. I am not too sure still what the Lost Symbol is. Oh well. It was a good and exciting read though. I wonder if they will make it into a movie :)

Inferno - Book 4

Dan Brown

4 Stars - 6 Days to read

I was scared at first to read this book since The Secret was a total waste of my time, but I was definitely glad that I read this! It was so good!

As well all know Robert Langdon by now, he never seems to have a dull day. This one begins with him in a hospital bed, not where he went to sleep the night before. He ended up in Italy out of all places and he had a mild case of memory loss. He had no idea when or how he got there, why he needed stitches on his head or why there was a crazy woman trying to kill him. He is partnered up with one of the doctors on his case as she helps him flee for his life. He is trying figure out a riddle that someone had left him in his jacket. It was a picture of a famous painting but it was altered. He is having visions and he fears something terrible will happen if he doesn't figure out the clues that he seemed to have already figured out before his memory loss. A plague is going to hit and Robert needs to get 'there' in time before the bomb goes off.

I was captivated the entire time reading this book. I wish I read Dante's Inferno because this WHOLE book was based on that. It made me want to read it after, but I probably won't. I am over it now. But I definitely recommend this book if you read the other two (don't read the third) already.

Origin - Book 5

Dan Brown

4 Stars - 7 Days to read

Normally it takes me only a couple days to read a Dan Brown book, but my kids wouldn't give me enough time to pick this book up. I actually really enjoyed this book. Dan Brown knows how to keep you reading!

It all begins with a secret - of course. Another theory of where we come from and where we are going. Edmond Kirsch has a theory that would change science forever. And apparently some people don't want this news to come out. Right before a presentation was about to unveil the truth, Edmond is murdered. They hope that the presentation would be silenced forever, but Robert Langdon and a woman he just met that day - Ambra Vidal, who is the fiance of the prince - have other plans. Robert and Ambra scramble around trying to figure out where Edmond's headquarters is and have to figure out a numbered password to release the rest of the presentation. That is their goal, but of course, some people are trying to stop them.

I was a little bit upset at the end of this book. Some of my questions were not answered. There was an incriminating text message found on a phone and it turned events in the story, yet it was never explained! Other than that, this book was pretty good! I would definitely recommend this whole series!

The Sugar Queen

Sarah Addison Allen

5 Stars - 4 Days to read

This was such a great book! I definitely recommend this book to everyone. It is a great read for all ages! It is very humorous and loving at the same time. It definitely kept me wondering what as going to happen in the next chapter!

Garden Spells - Book 1

Sarah Addison Allen

5 Stars - 3 Days to read

This book was very good. What to say? Hm. It kept me reading and wanting more. I found myself smiling and laughing out loud as I read. The story line was great and it felt like I was there with them through every line I read. There was a certain magic to this book that doesn't go all the way to say they are witches, but it is just a secret special ability that some people just have. The main character is a fantastic cooker and knows all the secret herbs to create different potions. Her next door neighbour beings random articles to people knowing they will one day need them. It is cool. Overall, it was great! I wish it was a movie! lol

First Frost - Book 2

Sarah Addison Allen

I COULD NOT FINISH! SO BORING. I have no idea how that happened. I love this author! I am sad.

The Forgotten Garden

Kate Morton

5+ Stars - 11 Days to read

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! I am in shock at how incredibly marvelous this book was. The beginning was perfect. The Middle was mysterious and the ending was breath taking! I cried. The forgotten garden is a place I would love to visit. So many stories. Such incredible history! I would recommend this story a thousand times over to anyone who wants to read it. You will fall in love, just as I have! BEAUTIFUL!

The Darkest Passion

Gena Showalter

3 Stars - 4 Days to read

It was alright. I expected more out of it. The whole 'not allowed to be together' thing was alright. Angels and Demons. Way too many characters to keep up. I realized there was a glossary in the back with all 50 names :|

Tales of the Otherworld

Kelly Armstrong

3.5 Stars - 5 Days to read

The beginning was great. Cool to learn the different tales of vampires, witches and werewolves. But that's just it. The beginning was great... the ending was awful. I expected more. I finished with many questions. I didn't like this.... I do like the way Kelly writes though. I will give her that. She is also from Toronto. Woo hoo. Represent!

Lovely Bones

Alice Sebold

4 Stars - 5 Days to read

Very good book. It was a very emotional family based book. It was basically the story of a young girl named Susie and how she gets kidnapped, raped and killed by her neighbour. Her father tries to find the killer while the mother leaves them to find herself. Susie watches everything happening and is being guided to cross over on to the other side. Um, I don't really know what to say. The movie was better than the book. It was a very artsy movie that made it that much better and easier to connect with the characters. It made me cry. Seeing other people cry always touches me.

"Last name Salmon, like the fish. First name Susie."

The City of Ember - Book 1

Jeanne DuPrau

5 Stars - 2 Days to read

A really good book. It was an easy read but I did not want to put it down. I had to know what was going to happen to the citizens of Ember. It is very different from the normal Earth stories you read. There is a book 2 which i will most definitely buy! :)

The movie was just as good as the book!

The People of Sparks - Book 2

Jeanne DuPrau

3 Stars - 3 Days to read

The second book of Ember was pretty good. Nothing special. Pretty straight forward. It is interesting to read about how the author thinks the wold is after all the wars and civilization is extinct. I enjoyed this book. I will buy the third one.

The Prophet of Yonwood - Book 3

Jeanne DuPrau

1 Star - 8 Days to read

WOW!! If I could give negative reviews, this book would get it. Wow. Wow. Wow. I AM STUNNED. I loved the first two books of this series and this one just RUINED, repeat - RUINED it for me. I can't believe this book was even ALLOWED to be published. There is no reason for this book. IF YOU ARE READING THE SERIES... DO NOT READ THIS BOOK. You will miss nothing!

This book begins when the world is normal. In the books before they live underground due to an attack on the world and all life forms are dead. Yadda yadda. This is a sequel to all that. A woman has a vision of the world being bombed so she gets the title The Prophet. A little girl goes to the town to sell her grandfather’s house since he passed......

You know what. There is really no point to telling you what happened because this book sucked. It just sucked. Shame on you Jeanne DuPrau. Seriously. Just because of this book, I don't even want to read the next one. But I already have it, so I might as well. Bye.

The Diamond of Darkhold - Book 4

Jeanne DuPrau
3 Stars - 5 Days to read

I was going to give this book a 2 star review, but then I guess it got better in the end. I don’t know what I saw in these books in the beginning but I am sad to say that I did not enjoy this book that much. The first book was awesome, the second was still pretty good, the third was a write off, and this one was just Meh…

It begins with the cold weather slowly approaching and the people of Sparks are dwindling on supplies. Doon and Lina get a book from a traveler and came to the conclusion the book was meant for the people of Ember. After realizing that, they decide to go back to Ember to retrieve the canned food that has been kept there in the storage rooms. They find a diamond that has been hidden and meant for the people of Sparks to find as well. They try to figure out what the diamond does and that’s about it.

I think if there was another book to this series I wouldn’t read it. I just can’t handle these books anymore. Sorry. On to my next conquest!

Tuesdays with Morrie

Mitch Albom

4 Stars - 2 Days to read

Not my normal fantasy book I like, but this book was still pretty good. It really opens your eyes and your heart. Most people said I would cry, but I didn't. I don't know.

The movie was better than the book. Some parts I thought would be different but emotions were brought out more in the movie.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven

Mitch Albom

4 Stars - 2 Days to read

This was a very nice book. Mitch knows how to write from the soul, that's for sure. He seems to know a lot about life in general. It was a sweet book. Made me smile.

I'll let you know how the movie is when I see it.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Book 1

Steig Larsson

3.5 Stars - 7 Days to read

So Confusing in the beginning. Almost stopped reading...Just finished, but there'snot much to say. Actually there is too much to say. The whole murder case was not needed. The names were so hard to remember. The ending was shocking, but cool. I would have to say the best part had to have been Lisbeth. If she wasn't in this book, it would be SO BORING!

The movie wasn't any better than the book. I can't wait for the English version to come out, though. Now THAT looks good!

The Girl Who Played With Fire - Book 2

Steig Larsson

5 Stars - 8 Days to read

I just want to say that this book was a million times better than the first one. It was well written. The events were exciting. Everything tied in together perfectly.

I liked the part in the beginning that showed Lisbeth on vacation for a while, but I wondered why they went into so much detail about the couple in the room beside her. I thought they would go into detail and the woman would come back in the end of the book but she didn't. after finishing the book I realized why the author had added them in. It was to show how Lisbeth felt about abusive spouses. The man abused his wife and the author showed that Lisbeth didn't’t take that lightly. I understood that Lisbeth wouldn't let it slide, but you find out after why she took it so personally. She risked her own life to save the unknown woman. Lisbeth was so bold and I cheered for her through the entire book! I can understand now why they made these books in to movies!! Can't wait to read the next one!!

Favourite line: “Mikael Fucking Blomkvist.”

The movie was pretty good, but of course like in every other situation where the book turns movie, the book was much better!

The Girl Who Kicked he Hornet's Nest -Book 3

Steig Larsson

To be read

The Girl in the Spider's Web - Book 4

Steig Larsson

To be read

Ella Enchanted

Gail Carson Levine

4 Stars - 3 Days to read

I remember buying this book from a book order in Elementary school. I was so excited to read it. When I actually got he book, I read the first chapter and put it down and did not pick it up until high school. After finishing it I realized there was a movie that went along with it. I remember a few parts that happened in the book but I would like to re read it and write a review on the book and not what I remember from the movie. :)

The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud

Ben Sherwood

4 Stars - 2 Days to read

This book was very good. Nothing special happened in it, but it still made me want to cry. It was sad. It is hard dealing with death. This book puts it in a good way. Just because someone has died, does not mean they are gone forever. They are everywhere and are waiting for you in the afterlife. It's sweet :)

Haven't seen the movie yet.

My Sister's Keeper

Jodi Picoult

4 Stars - 7 Days to read

I hated it so much, I liked it. It was such a sad story. I don't like stories like this. At the end of the book I cried so much, my eyes turned all red. I cried, not because I thought about someone I lost. I cried because I have never lost someone close to me before, and I am scared to feel those emotions.

They changed the ending! How could they! Movie was ruined!

The Notebook

Nicholas Sparks

4 Stars - 4 Days to read

This book was much different from the movie. Unfortunately I watched the movie first so I wasn't in any rush to find out how it was going to end. That's why it took me so long to read. Um, good book. Movie was Much better! It's a sad love story. But, this one has an ending that I enjoyed.

Safe Haven

Nicholas Sparks

4 Stars - 5 Days to read

I love anything Nicholas Sparks and I think he did an Alright job with this one. I kind of expected more, but I can't choose how I want the book to end. Just when you built a relationship with the characters, the story ends. Overall it was a good book. I liked the perspective of the crazy drunk husband. Best part of the book.

Haven't seen the movie yet.

The Secret Life of Bees

Sue Monk Kidd

4 Stars - 12 Days to read

Alright, what to say? This was a slow book but it was meaningful. I enjoyed reading about Lily, but I wasn't too interested in continuous reading. Took me so long because sometimes I forgot what I was reading. Didn't reel me in.

The movie was pretty good. It was more emotional for me. I teared up during the movie.

Secret Daughter

Shilpi Somaya Gowda

3 Stars - 6 Days to read

It was alright. There were a lot of Indian words that needed to be translated from the back of the book. I learned a lot about Indian culture, but other than that, I didn't like anything else. The story was sad. I didn't quite like the ending. Oh well.

Water for Elephants

Sara Gruen

 4 Stars - 14 Days to read

It was an alright book. I thought it would have been better. I kept reading because I pictured the main character as Robert (since that's his role in the movie). It had a good story line and you become close with the characters. The ending was sweet. Poor old Jacob.

The movie was much better than the book. I don't know if it was because of the fact that Robert Pattinson was the main character. He played the role well

Fire - Book 1

Kristin Cashore

3.5 Stars - 8 Days to read

The Prequel to Graceling. Even though I liked Graceling better, this book was very interesting. The one thing I found weird was that they talked about her 'monthly bleedings' a bit too much. Things in Graceling made sense after reading this. Like why King Leck had an eye patch. Overall it was good. A sad book (kinda) but good :)

Graceling - Book 2

Kristin Cashore

4 Stars - 5 Days to read

This was a pretty good book. The Majority of the book is travelling in the forest. Pretty much 90% of it is. I could picture the entire story as I read. Good outcome of events. I have never read a book like this and I really enjoyed it. The special abilities because of the change of the colour of their eyes was cool. The love in this book was very heartwarming. Loved it!!! I will definitely buy the second book.

Bitterblue - Book 3

Kristin Cashore

3 Stars - 8 Days to read

This book took up wayyyy too much of my time. Holy crap. I can easily say that I didn't really enjoy reading this book, but I did want to finish it because I started the series so I wanted to finish it. Graceling was amazing, Fire was just ok, but this book was just the worst. I fell in love with this series because of Po and Katsa. But this book didn't have much of them – together.

This book begins with Queen Bitterblue trying to run her Queendom after her father died – King Leck. He brainwashed the entire city to believe what he wanted them to believe and Bitterblue has realized that finding out the truth about her father wasn't the best idea in the world. Her friends come and help her figure out what exactly her father did while he ruled and why her mother reached her gruesome end. She wanted to know who was part of her fathers animal and woman abuse but couldn't figure it out since King Leck made them forget what was happening or told them not to tell anyone. Queen Bitterblue ventures out of the castle to find some answers and meets two boys and falls in love with one. She asks him to help her but he doesn't know she is the queen. When he finds out he is pissed and steals her crown. What a loser. I would have fallen in love with him right away if someone pulled that stuff with me!

I don’t really know what else to say other than this book was so boring and no shock to me that I am a bit upset after reading it. I would have given it two stars, but I didn't. I liked the writing style but the content was too long and too… umm… boring. And repetitive. SO repetitive! That’s all. If you want to read this series, read Graceling only. That’s all you really need. The other two books are nothing.

The Lost Hours

Karen White

3.5 Stars - 6 Days to read

This book was alright. If you like Horses and secrets then read this book. I only read it because I wanted to know what the grandmother's secret was. You secretly already know, but there is a second part that is a shocker. There were some sweet parts that made me smile.

Room

Emma Donoghue

5+ Stars - 2 Days to read

I. Could. Not. Put. This. Book. Down! It annoyed me at first since it was from a 5 year old's perspective, but then it grows on you. I couldn't believe someone dared to write in depth like that. Room was a book I would probably read over. I would like to know more on what happened with Jack, but I know there will be no part 2. You become so interested in the main characters life. Bye-Bye Room.

Still Alice

Lisa Genova

4 Stars - 5 Days to read

This story was very well written. I teared up in some parts. If you have a heart, you will tear up as well. You are proud in some parts and just saddened in others. It was a sad and sweet book. I didn't like it too much - not because it was a bad book or anything - it's just that it was too real for me. This i the hard truth about Alzheimer's. Scary stuff.

The Thirteenth Tale

Diane Setterfield

4 Stars - 5 Days to read

This book was written by a skilled author. I loved the way she wrote. Everything was described perfectly. I found myself very interested in the story. Some things were confusing but I got them in the end. If you do choose to read this story and you are confused, come to me and I will answer your questions. Overall good book!

The Devil Wears Prada

Lauren Weisberger

3.5 Stars - 8 Days to read

This book was really good. I am not one to know much about designer clothes or fashion, but it seems like a lot of money goes into it and I don't know if I would put myself in the main characters position just for some shoes. The movie was better than the book, but they should have kept the books ending. Overall an okay read.

Corduroy Mansions

Alexander McCall Smith

2 Stars - 8 Days to read

Okay. Okay. Ready? NEVER READ THIS BOOK! Unless you are 80+ haha. I never knew there were bad books out there, but this one is one of them. I waited for something exciting to happen, but NOTHING did! I thought, okay now? No. Now? No! If you see this book in the bookstore, just keep walking. That's all.

Inkheart

Cornelia Funke

So, this book was alright. It was very imaginative, but I was seeking just a little bit more. I wasn't really interested in what was going to happen. It kinda dragged on.

I never knew it was possible to change everything that happened in the book to the movie. They did it! Sure the main parts were there, but the way things happened was all different. If you read and watch, I know you will agree. It wasn't that great of a movie. I forced myself to watch it so I could critique.

The Alchemist

Paulo Coelho

This was a book that makes you really think. I liked it because it was straight to the point. It made me not want to put it down. Its a life lesson in a few pages in a book. A must read if your looking for something short. I loved it :)

Intertwined - Book 1

Gena Showalter

This was a great book. So many characters but they were all needed. I loved all the characters. I found myself wanting to know more about them! Everything worked out in the end. Thanks to Maddy who bought this book for me! :)

Unraveled - Book 2

Great continuation to Intertwined! I couldn't put the book down. It was so exciting! It is so easy to get lot in these books. The only bad thing about this book is the cliffhanger at the end! The third book isn't out yet, so I must suffer and wait patiently for it. Love it! :D

Twisted - Book 3
